Amy Witzigreuter, Founder + Owner of Witzi’s Raw Granola, was inspired to creat granola by her son, who suffered considerable health issues. Changing his diet by eliminating processed foods, as well as gluten, dairy, soy, corn and grains, made a significant difference in his overall health. Finding foods to meet his needs was challenging, especially in the snack category. The options may have met one or two of the criteria, but none met them all. And, most were filled sugar! The experimenting in the kitchen paid off in a granola everyone loved! The business came years later, when Amy realized the timing was right in their journey ~ and people were ready for cleaner eating!
Witzi’s goes beyond basic granola, providing a nutrient-dense topper to oatmeal, yogurt, smoothies, salads or a simple grab-n-go snack! Theminimalprocess includes soaking and dehydrating the nuts and seeds. This is a game-changer, and different than the other granolas! Soaking neutralizing enzyme inhibitors and phytic acid, which makes is easier to digest, while dehydrating at low temperatures, preserves fragile essential fatty acids, and overall nutrition.
